I had a call from on landline at 7pm, saying your internet would be disconnected in 24hrs , if you wont comply and follow instruction as your PC been hacked. she directed me to open windows and literally ordering me to enter into the files, I counter attacked her how should i believe you, she was so confident and rude,she gave me the above no and confirm with Diana, as well as the case no D525417. my husband called and same lady answered. they are hacker themselves, such a pity..

Same as you all. Scam alert! Caller with Indian accent said she was from Telstra and threatened to cut off my internet connection in the next 24hrs because my line was "hacked". She couldn't tell me my first name and got my address wrong (obviously reading from phone book because she couldn't process "blv" and read out the 3 letters instead of saying "boulevard" like any normal person would). Gave me this Melbourne number to call and "verify" her claims. Well guess what... I rang up Telstra, their customer support person called this number back and the guy that picked up hung up on her after she told him she was calling from Telstra. Telstra knows about the scam - the scammers will try to get you to download something off a website they give you (obviously, DON'T do that) so they can remotely control your computer and access your stuff. Sometimes, they'll ask for your account login/password and other times, they'll ask you to pay a "fee" to "reconnect" your internet to get your credit card details. Telstra customer support couldn't really give any advice other than to place yourselves on the Do Not Call register, but that's useless against overseas scammers.

I got a call from them telling me my internet has been cut off due to someone hacking our internet connection and they gave me instructions on how to fix it. I pretended to comply with their instructions and eventually they made me go on a website, which didn't make sense. So I questioned them 'Why would you tell me to go on the website if my internet is cut off?' Common sense, and she hanged up on me. This is the second time they have called, the first time was saying that we had a virus and they told us to go on our windows computer when we all have macs.

Caller name is sandra with indian accent told me the same thing that internet accn't is hack and needs to be taken down for 24 hrs. I said need to verify it with telstra myself and they said its a bogus call of their competitors to lure telstra customers to switch internet provider. This number should be taken down.

Had a call from an Indain claiming much the same as below. Telstra was having an issue & they needed to cut off my Interenet service - even though I am not with Telstra...SCAM SCAM SCAM

Just had the same experience like Bill Tolson.I called her back and when I said I'll report her to the police she literally went boo boo to me! What cheek!
I reported it to ACCC hope they do something about it.

At 7:20pm last night I had a call from "Telstra Technical Services". Diana said that I need to follow their instructions or my Telstra Internet would be completely disconnected in 24 hours. I told her this did not sound right, so she gave me the above number to ring. My work IT department told me it was bogus.

I also got a call from them, claiming that they are from telsra and asked me to pay $250. Then I called Telstra they said its not them. why no one is doing anything about this?

This is a scam service. They had our address.

Same as above, women claimed to be calling from Telstra. If I didn't comply the internet connection will be cut off completely.

My mother had a call from this number. I rang them back and Indian operator told me how Telstra Internet had been hacked and if I cooperated they would help fix the problem. I needed to be in front of a computer and follow their instructions. Only thing was my mother doesn't use Telstra Internet. I didn't continue the conversation. Sounds like a scam.

CAller saying they were from telstra and if i did not act now internet would be cut off due to fault in telstra system. Sounds very bogus to me.
