also received the same text however I ignored it until I saw an extra $60 charge on my bill!! Have spoken to telstra and all they can do is bar third party content from my mobile phone to make it stop. Sending "stop" does not work. I have made a complaint to the ACCC also.

Globway billed me for $10 from some pop up advertising, seems they can like others who run thsi money making businesses get your phone number and pop you an advertisement and if you touch the screen get subscribed. No option to choose yes or no, billed by Optus. Texted STOP. investigating further, seems like a global mobile money making business.

I got the same text message from ero247 when I tried to close a popup on my iPhone. I called the number and, probably stupidly, gave them my phone number. Since they had already sent a text message they had it anyway. I immediately received another text saying I was unsubscribed. I'm awaiting a bill from Optus and will raise it with them if I have been charged anything. I certainly didn't subscribe and very unhappy that the iPhone 5s lacks the security to stop this from happening.

I have just received the same txt msg.
Contacted the company, they say I had subscribed to a porn site. I have contacted Telstra and they are doing the following:
Telstra:
Jerrick

I'll block the premium SMS and will put a note here to credit the charge for 1300 number that will show on your account since you already contacted them and told that you are unsubscribe to their service

I just received this message by text
"FreeMsg: Thank U for subscribing to ET1. Cost $10/week, 25c/msg sent until u SMS STOP to 19900012 Helpline 1300 364 976 Globway"
I did not give my number or consent to anyone so why do our Australian telecommunication companies allowing this to happen? I rang Telstra and they said they will refund me just this once. This is not good enough. Telstra shouldn't allow this to happen. This scam has been going on for years. The ACCC are useless!!!

Today I received a message from Globway thanking me for subscribing to ETI at a cost of $10 a week. I have never heard of them and did not subscribe to them.

Thia is a scam and Telsta's response is that it's a 3rd party service and they wont refund since my IMEI number is valid against the charge. This is not good enough so I am escalating the matter to telecommunications ombudsman to see what they can do. Phone companies must put the emphasis back on 3rd parties otherwise scams like this will continue.

I got the same message and notices $10 from my account so I called Telstra and let em have it! I said you have let someone steal money from my account without my permission and to get it back immediately. They told me it was some third party and gave me a number to call but I refused and told them they have let someone steal my money without my permission and to fix it right away! The Telstra help desk called a number and had a 3 way conversation where the 3rd party said they would refund but been 2 days and no refund. I will call Telstra again tomorrow and let them have it again and start an autodialler on the 1300 number every 10 miunutes so the dodgy company starts getting charged for mobile calls to their 1300 number until they refund me.

Got the same text message least night. Checked my Optus a/c today. I've been slugged $10 as well as somehow using 95% of my monthly 5GB allowance in only 1day . I tried calling Optus Tech Support as soon as it happened. It appears that's it's a billing/service issue and they aren't open until Monday. I'm not texting or calling a company called 'Globway'.

It's a subscription to some porn site. There's no way I'd sign up to it - It's full of titties and minge - and I'm a big old homo! So I definitely did not sign up for it.

I'm sure this will take hours to explain to some numpty in a Manilla call centre.

Having the same problem,

Called up Optus, they said to text STOP (in uppercase, instead of "Stop" which is what the message says) I'm hoping this actually works.
Optus also said, it's the 3rd party subscription, so they're unable to stop it themselves.

I hope this helps people having the same trouble

I just randomly got the same text as the above complaints, I did some research and it's a criminal scam based out of Cyprus, it somehow gets your mobile number through loopholes in the security on the phone when browsing the internet "popup windows with ads" then "subscribes" you without your consent.

I will be contacting Scam watch and my mobile provider before anything further happens

On 07.08.14 I got text that I subsribed to Xpor and i will be charged 10 bucks e week.
Didnt give them any details, not even a phone number, just accidentaly clicked on website and got texts from them informing about a charged.
I got charged $18.18 without GST.
Called Optus and they said that for some services I could be charged without giving any details but only phone number! Wtf! they said they would credit that back(Optus) when my bill is ready.
How in the World you can get charged without consent and to Optus bill?
How come Optus allows for it to happen.
Will send email to ACA!

Same problem. Rang xpor.mobi
They said I gave my mobile number to a web site.
Never!
Asked for refund, they wanted name and email. Didn't give them ANY info.
Apparently my number has now been cancelled from data base!
Surely consumer affairs need to act.
Will ring Optus to ensure cancellation

Same problem and text for me. I called Optus and they confirmed that I had been charged $10!! How is this possible when you don't even sign up or click on anything?? They have changed my account settings to prevent this and refunded the $10 but God knows how the default account settings can allow someone to just bill you..
